    Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions about SS Leg 88.
    
    I appreciate Peter's comment "All I can say is that
    the Silicon Sea series uses DR positions established by courses and
    distances only, except for when calculating compass course to steer."
    
    I did find, while working the problem, that calculating a couse to steer
    using the drift correction made the "numbers work out better".
    
    I will, of course develop plotting skills, so I can use them on
    actual charts one of these days.  And perhaps on the
    remainder of the Silicon Seas problems.
    
    My next CelNav task for myself is from the Celestaire
    "100 Problems in Celestial Navigation".  Problem 1-2
    looks to involve averaging sights.
    
    As for using the artificial horizon -- the sun is never too
    high in Pennsylvania in winter.  The days are simply
    too cold, too cloudy, and too breezy.  I like the black
    lexan reflector idea.
