I can only tell you about the Regulus I, as I used them in
school. They were terrible with 2x scopes and it was nearly impossible for
the cadets to see stars. I have a feeling that those sextants were
the reason that most cadets at my school hated Celestial Navigation.
Despite being abysmal to use, they were well constructed. I hope that
the Regulus 2 followed suit in construction but not performance.

Hello,
I am trying to find more information and history details about Tamaya's sextant Regulus II. There is not much on internet and this discussion is one of the few places where Regulus is mentioned. I can see that there is Yachtsman version - Regulus I, but the model I am interested in is Regulus II which is full size and was produced around 1976. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
