Such a method (not limited to three LOPs) has been implemented in this Excel spreadsheet:

    Morgan,
Please tell us more what kind of suggestions you would like to get from us. Of course, every surveyor already knows better than we  how to get a fix from an overdetermined problem (e.g. 3 LOPs). It always comes down to the same problem: Gauss, Ausgleichsrechnung. The only thing they need to learn is how to get the LOPs.
A good method of sight reduction is described in the Nautical Almanac pp. 277 ff. It is adequate for any programmable calculator or laptop.
