TV show features A-7 bubble octant

An interesting odd history channel TV show called Pawn Stars recently featured the Bendix A-7 bubble octant. A seller was seen showing the bubble octant followed by a museum expert guy describing what it was reasonably well except for stating that aircraft navigators used the instrument to determine Longitude rather than a line of position. The Pawn Brokers were quite comical in their discussions of the bubble octant and how it worked. Ultimately the seller got what I think was a fair price of $200 for the A-7 which may or may not have been fully functional. The show is repeated every so often so keep your eyes open for the bubble octant episode on Pawn Stars this week.
