    Syzygy question
    From: G Becker
    Date: 2013 Aug 30, 11:37 -0700

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

On 19 December 1835, at wgs84 33.56348608, -81.72330038, did a syzygy occur? Could Earth, Mars, Sun, and maybe New Moon Perigee be considered in syzygy? Maybe around noon~ish.

    My three reference points are:

    1. A Town founding on that day/location,

    2. This Almanac http://books.google.com/books?id=SrgTAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA4&lpg=PA4&dq=winter+solstice+1835&source=bl&ots=WWdSoRLGw3&sig=SiIU_YLFcsuG3HwoGYzK0zLgpwg&hl=en&sa=X&ei=xqEgUqnoNIqW2gXw5IDIAw&ved=0CCkQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=december%2019th&f=false,

    3. Rough check in Stellarium

The main axis of the Town is along a strange azimuth. Around noon, the moon is near* the azimuth angle. *near = "hitting the side of a barn"

    Thank you
