There will be an optimum number of stars and number of observation per
star in a given situation. The brightness and azimuth of the stars
matter too of course. Then wee feed this in to the probability model
and decide what our criterion for accuracy is (eg area in or length of
semi major axis of a certain probability contour).

Interesting question is if experienced navigators have found the
    optimum by experience.
