    Survivorman Analemma

The recent discussions of wilderness tragedy and survival got me in the mood to do some hiking --nothing dangerous but it's great to be out while the weather is nice. It also put me in the mood to watch some video about hiking, so I've been bingeing on survival shows. In the first season of Les Stroud's "Survivorman" I was pleased to see something familiar during the opening credits. It's not exactly a survival tool, but it's fun to see an analemma in a popular show. See attached image, below (screen cap from the opening credits). I emphasize and encourage the use of the analemma in almost all of my navigation classes.
