    Here the law requires headlights from 30 minutes after "sunrise" to 30 minute 
    before "sunset" with no further definition. That would be 7-1/2 degrees, so 
    perhaps our motor vehicle code is just recognizing a similar standard of 
    darkness to that one civil twilight recognizes. But it is definitely not 
    quite the same.
     I was taught that the motor vehicle code was based on how much light was 
    needed to read the small print in a newspaper, i.e. how bright it is out.
