Here in Southern California we just had a full gale with some gusts over 60 kts. Not a good time to be out sailing. Today was settled but the surf was up big. The gale came from the north west so was cold. The Sun's image shows a disturbed circumference. Even with a lumpy horizon and an unsettled atmosphere the intercepts were 1.3' away lower limb and 1.7' away upper limb for a height of eye of 8 ft.. Temperature and pressure were corrected for.
