That's really cool.
Not sure if you're aware, but Rodger Farley developed a similar program as a compliment to his "Celestial Navigation in a Teacup" suite. It's not quite as complex, but it does essentially the same thing. It's called "Solar Shadow" and is available to download as a standalone program at the bottom of the page here:
