    Sun Shots Through Clouds
    From: Greg Rudzinski

Finally Southern Cal got some rain :) Normally rain isn't good news for CN observations but the unpredictable cloud cover can be an opportunity to practice observations of the Sun through various types of clouds.  Tips-Be at the ready which requires cat like patience. Know the sextants shade combinations. Preset altitude. Be quick yet smooth on rocking the arc. Expedience over precision. A final important note is that the Sun needs to be positively identified and not just a bright spot in the clouds.
