Marvin: Right, "Line of Position Navigation: Sumner and Saint Hilaire the Two Pillars of Modern Celestial Navigation" contains an exact reprint of the entire first edition of Sumner's historic publication of 1843. The introduction to this chapter contains some biographical notes on Sumner, but, unfortunately, I have not been able to turn up where he was buried. The following chapter contains some biographical notes on Marcq Saint-Hilaire as well as translations of two of his important "intercept method" publications ca. 1875 for any body interested.
