With the current discussion on steering, I though that I'd mention an amusing story that happened to me once on a yacht-skipper course which I was teaching: The boat had been worked on and the wires to the steering quadrant had been reversed, we only realised this when a student was backing out of the marina and the vessel kept steering in the opposite direction. Anyway, we decided to carry on for an evening sail and had quite a bit of fun trying to reverse our thinking every time we had to tack or manouvre. It seems a lot more natural for the boat to steer 'left hand down a bit' to turn to port etc. What about any aircraft pilots out there on the list - I'm sure you'd prefer your control yoke to ''mean what it says when banking ??"
