I just purchased the app and played with it for an hour and so. I share
your enthusiasm. My phone is semi-smart (no accelerometer) so cannot use
the point and shoot feature. I have done theoreticals with it using a
known position and HC's from various almanacs. Even with a 1
decimal-point input (it allows 2) I'm obtaining intercepts in the 0!07
    range. not too shabby.

I especially like the declination/deviation feature. Checked it out
    against and it seems
to be spot on for my location. Being old school I do use the above
website to update my paper charts for variation every season, as well as
checking out the boat's compass deviation. A poor man's sun
compass/pelorus using a rotating plastic (drawing) compass with an inner
and outer circle from a craft store and gimballed box for boats new to
me remains an unfinished winter project.

I'm unfamiliar with the e-mail yourself feature you mentioned. Would be
kind enough to post a cookbook explanation?

On a side note, if Hien is looking for an image of a veteran sextant
master, how about the picture of our own discussion-group member in an
inflatable in a back-yard pool? Just sign the model release form.... ;-)
