I would like to see some photographs of the prototype, if at all possible.
I do wonder how you accounted for refraction and aberration. That is, the two stars used would be affected by both of these elements. Precession would also come into account, if not using today's star data. Did you use Nautical Almanac data?
Novel and unique instruments, particularly those patented, present interesting thought experiments. I do hope you will post to the list.
