    Star-Star observation equipment

    Dear Members,

I have been reading the discussion about star-star observations with interest.
However I am not qualified to participate in these discussions, and realizing that this a bit off subject, I remembered seeing a patent issued on a piece of equipment used for start-star observations.
I have linked a .pdf file of the US patent 4449817 and I am curious if anyone has any further information on this apparatus. The address of the inventor on the patent (William L. Abler) I believe is a fraternity house of the University of Illinois, Chicago. With the patent issued in 1984 I believe that this is a dead end. The inventor does have 3 patents issued all closely related around this one.
It would be interesting to see if he had ever any working equipment produced.

    Best Regards,

    John Geelhoed
