    Re: Star - Star Observations
    From: Brad Morris

The Skyscout did indicate Alphard and Sirius as the objects. Further, the sextant was
    horizontal.

Well, Brad, what stars did your Skyscout tell you it was looking at, then?
And how come it provided you with two altitudes that differed by 9 , when
at that time Alphard and Sirius had the same altitude within a few
arc-minutes? Was it Alphard and Sirius that you were observing, when
measuring distance between two stars? If they were, your sextant would have
    been exactly horizontal. Was it?

    Soime puzzles there...

    Hi Andres

Yes, Alphard and Sirius. I found the same thing to my utter dismay last
night. It is apparent that the Skyscout does not
provide right ascension to the degree of accuracy required of this problem.
This, of course, will drive me right back
into the Nautical Almanac for the day.

    Pity.

    Best Regards
    Brad

    Brad,

Your Skyscout gives the data with some error???
Trying to identify the stars, it seems they are Alphard and Sirius
