It's a custom all haversine formula based on the Davis equation which can be found in older editions of Bowditch (66, 77 ed.)

Thanks. I was wondering if there was a haversine verion of the time sight equation. Presumably it is easier to use than the cos version. Now to look it up. It must be somewhere - Bowdich, Admiralty Manual or Niccholl's Concise guide? Sometimes information I want seems to be in obscure places.
