The article includes information on the theory that the organs in the sperm
whales head may be connected with diving buoyancy, as well as other theories
--the issue is still undecided. Also discusses recent evidence that sperm whales
do, in fact, get the bends (natural selection does not guarantee a long
life, only a "long enough" life).
