    Soviet dip-meter described
    From: Alexandre Eremenko
    Date: 2012 Apr 14, 01:50 -0400

For those interested in construction of the Soviet dipmeter,
I translated the technical description. (Relevant parts of it).
    And Bill Morris
helped me with English and technical vocabulary.

The principle of working of this dipmeter differs substantially from all
    other dipmeters
discussed on this list (Gavrishev, Blish, and older ones). In particular,
    the case is
hermeticaly sealed, it needs no adjustment, has no wormscrew, no
drum, no sector with teeth, and no vernier, but the scale reads to 0'2.

The description in English can be found in the directory
    http://www.math.purdue.edu/~eremenko/Navigation/N5/
    description.pdf
Illustrating drawings to which the description refers are
    N51.pdf - N54.pdf
    and mysketch.pdf .
    Files n0.jpeg - n5.jpeg
are the photos I previously posted.

    Alex.
