I have not purchased a Soviet sextant, but I have used my friends and it was as good as my Freiberger. Because you can buy the Freiberger for within a few dollars of the Soviet one, what are you gaining? It�s easier to get parts or have the Freiberger serviced and I would feel more comfortable with it, if for that reason and nothing else.
