George, thanks for your comments. In regards to the sextant sight corrections, you may be right about the difference between I.C. and IE. The text of "100 Problems" has I.C.= -1.2'. I assumed this to mean this was the correction to be applied, in other words it is "on" the arc and therefore needs to be subtracted from the sextant reading. The CelestNav program has IE, and when I have a large negative value, it makes Ho larger, but when I have a large positive value, it makes Ho smaller. So I think it should be changed in sign. When I do that I get 15 07.9', which is much closer to my 15 08.4'. The difference my be from the equations used by the software and rounding in the almanac table. I regards to the moon, yes I know it swings all over and has a lot of other crazy wobbling to boot. I'll watch my table declinations and signs closely.
