From this article: http://www.ballardnewstribune.com/articles/2007/10/24/features/features/feat ure01.txt SohCahToa is the name of a 44-foot boat that just returned to Washingon state after a leisurely two-year circumnavigation. Some of you may recognize the name of the boat. It's a mnemonic for the basic trig functions: sine = opposite / hypotenuse --> Soh, etc. Sounds promising, right? Trigonometry geeks sailing around the world... SURELY, they used celestial. But no. According to the article, " 'We packed a sextant, but never took it out of the box,' said Smith, whose techno-savvy crew depended on GPS equipment." -FER http://www.HistoricalAtlas.com/lunars --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
