I just got back from helping to deliver a sailboat
across the Gulf of Mexico, was going to brush up on my noon sights along with
the skipper/owner who is a good celestial navigator, but it worked out I was
always in my bunhk at the wrong time...oh well, next time!
I have learned a LOT from the postings Re: slocams
lunars...
OK, here's an idea I've played with, maybe someone
can tell me if it has been done already. Not to be 'sacreligious', but I thought
of using a digital camera, low light model if need be, and taking a time and
date stamped image of the sky through a lens that would capture most of it,
then using a program to automaticaly compute your position...been done, I bet,
but by who?-Ken
