Answers to Silicon Sea Leg 67. 1. At evening fix, 1830 ZT = 2030 UT. 2. GHA Moon at 1830 ZT = 7 59.9 . The question asked for "GHA Aries of the Moon," but I assumed GHA of the Moon was wanted. 3. 1830 ZT fix = 3 00 N 31 00 W for practical purposes. We appear to be dead on course but distance made good is much more than expected. 4. Compass course 308 to Barbados. 5. True course 290. 6. After sailing 614 more mi, DR = 6 30 N 40 40 W. 7. ZT upon reaching this position = May 17 0400. All work done by hand with almanac, HO 229, plotting sheets. Time speed distance problems solved with E-6B slide rule. My plotting sheets are on 8.5 x 11 inch typing paper, so the scale has to be small to plot the course to Barbados. 1 mm = 12 mi!. Still, I'll bet the plot is far more accurate than you could sail a small vessel. For the celestial fix I expanded the scale to 1 mm = 1 mi.
