She worked at Mystic Seaport and I am of the belief Frank knew her. Unfortunately she died in the sudden sinking of the British barque "Marques" during a squall in 1984 while serving as the Education Officer. At that time she was Chairman of the Sail Training and Education Committee of the American Sail Training Association. While it has had minor revisions after the changes in the Nautical Almanac format, at times it does create confusion for me, and does not generally offer proofs for the equations. But given some shortcomings, a good beginner's text for cel nav and sailings. Add a measure of Dutton's and a good bit of Bowditch for the background of tables etc. and I think a beginner can make good progress, especially with the guidance of the list. Bill
