I believe Celestaire offers Pelican cases with sextant specific foam inserts. If anyone has an odd sextant or octant then the pull away foam to fit is the way to go. See the link below for the many sizes.

1. It seems that the best box for sextant transportation is
the bomb-proof watertight plastic box sold be Celestaire.
(I've seen it: Bill uses one).
