Thank you George !
Let me will take the compliment for the southern side of the Channel.
True : there are some lighting displays which are really well thought of ! Chenal du Fromveur, Chenal de la Helle, Chenal du Four, and of course, the dreaded RAZ DE SEIN !!! Well, I am very surprised that on the northern side of the Channel, the situation is not the same ! I had not noticed significant differences then. But I am far from having your own sailing practice in these areas. No need to say to other NavList Members that these are extremely interesting areas to navigate especially with the tide-reversing currents, actually not always by 180° otherwise it would be too easy ...

Let me then compliment back your Country back because in the Airline Pilots Community it is recognized as one of the VERY BEST in the World, and possibly the LEADING COUNTRY, as regards Civilian Air Navigation and Control ! The USA and other countries are excellent too ...
The way your Air Controllers can wonderfully ANTICIPATE and regulate air traffic in the UK, especially when things are becoming "hot" due to bad-weather, going-arounds, aircraft low on fuel is simply stupendous and phenomenal !
Also, in comparison to Paris Charles de Gaulle, the way your Arrival and Departure procedures have been designed for all the Airports around London - and especially London Heathrow - is absolutely perfect, or was definitely so whe we had to rely exclusively on VOR's and DME's. Now the use of AIRNAV enables A/C to fly (almost) any arbitrary lateral track on the ground.
I always felt that the Airtracks Navigation Procedure Designers in your counry were and ARE Pilots themselves !!! Ours certainly are Engineers (which might imply : "non-users" ...), ad that can make a huge difference ! .. although I must admit that there have been significant progress in my home country in the last 15 years or so.
Best Regards + Fair Winds + Following Seas
