Thank you. That’s more or less what I expected. Therefore, this item should be treated as a curiosity rather than a significant find and certainly not worth its appraisal value of $1400 or the $1300 asked. I was aware of retailers having their own name engraved upon makers sextants, but I wasn’t aware of the cottage industry supplying the makers. DaveP
