    It's here: 41.44916° N, 71.39938° W.

If you go to this location in Google Maps/Earth, you will find the shadow of a small sign just a few feet away. Robin Stuart, Bruce Pennino, and I were all taking sights within ten feet of that sign. Normally when I report sights "from Beavertail", we're within fifty feet (half a second of arc) of that location, and the height of eye is nearly constant in that area. In Google Maps imagery, you can see a platform just south of that spot. There's also nice "Street View" imagery from a few feet immediately to the north for a different view of the platform. This surface is a concrete top on the ruins of an octagonal lighthouse base which was originally constructed in 1754 (the stone base would date from then). This is impressively old for such an exposed location in the US, though of course it's barely even "vintage" for some parts of the world. The concrete top was re-built last week so we did not shoot from there this past weekend.
