    Re: Sextant manufacturers

    Here are some more:

    US:
Thos. S. Negus & Co., not sure if they also sold sextants, but they
started in 1864 and went over to the followning company in 1869:
    T.S. & J.D. Negus (1869 - first quarter 20th century)
The White in your list is probably David White & Co, Milwaukee, Wisconson
Instruments from these two manufacturers can be found on my website.

    Dutch:
L.J. Harri, seen one from first quarter 20th century at the L.J.Harri
shop in Amsterdam, most probably a reseller

    Did you check websters database?
    http://historydb.adlerplanetarium.org/signatures/
Typing the words 'sextant', 'octant', 'quintant' and 'circle' and
selecting search field 'instrument' resulted in the following messages:
    > Your search for "sextant" yielded 351 entries.
    > Your search for "octant" yielded 307 entries.
    > Your search for "quintant" yielded 9 entries.
    > Your search for "circle" yielded 83 entries.
That should help you getting some manufacturers in your list ;-)
