George, > Alex provided an interesting list of >"sextant manufacturers", but if he is > going to make it comprehensive, > he has a lot of labour in store. Yes. But I count on the help of the list members. > One example, not on Alex's list, is Sewill, of Liverpool, I was hesitating about Sewell, because his sextant (your sextant) looks exactly like a Heath of the same epoch. But perhaps "Maker to the Royal Navy" means something, so I added him to the list. > | Henry Hughes and Son, formerly Kelvin and Hughes, > | (Fenchurch str., London) > but I suggest that ought to be the other way round.. Why do you think so?? Kelvin could (and did!) participate in this enterprise in XIX century, while Hughes and Son (=Husun) was very common in XX century. So it looks like they dropped Kelvin's name... > email "Gloria Clifton"Do you know of any publications of her with the list of manufacturers?
