A friend bought a Russian sextant through e-bay and is looking for infos. He received the sextant in his wooden box. Screwed to the box are 2 small engraved plates A small ( 10mm x 30mm ) engraved plate shows SNO-M A bigger one ( 20mm x 40mm ) shows a circle in the middle with the letter K followed by a figure that looks like a 6. Years, serial numbers, etc. also appears on the plate. The instrument in painted grey (probably aluminum). When you look through the eyepiece (scope), the image is reversed like in a tlescope Glued inside the cover of the box are 2 pieces of paper with various inscriptions (probably corrections to be applied or something similar but can not decepher exept for the numbers as it is written in Russian) Any infos ??? many thanks Pierre Boucher ************************************************************************** X XX X Pierre Boucher N XXX XX formation en navigation de plaisance XXXX XXX Ste-Therese (Quebec) Canada XXXXX XXX XXXXXX XXX la "VOILE"... le reste n'est que du vent...
