A quick reminder: sextant practice Saturday morning (July 14) from 9am to 11am at Beavertail on Conanicut Island, Jamestown, RI. I've borrowed my favorite Plath sextant from Mystic Seaport. I'll also have a couple of my own sextants. If the weather holds, it's a great opportunity to try your hand at lunars, if you're interested in historical sights, or a nice daytime two-body fix, if you're interested in mid/late 20th century celestial navigation.
