    Sextant error analysis, Simms 1858
    From: Frank Reed CT
    Date: 2007 Feb 28, 21:46 -0800

Go to books.google.com. Enter these three words in the search field:
sextant applications Simms. Hit "Search Books". You will find a
complete copy of "The Sextant and its Applications" by W.H. Simms from
1858. It's filled with meaty math on the various instrumental errors
of the sextant and how to deal with them including examples on using
star-star distances to generate an arc error table with lots of
    detail.
