    Re: Sextant on ebay

This sextant is likely to be a forgery anyway with or without certificate. It is a 40 years old Russian SNO-M that has been engraved with Kriegs Marine and C-Plath logos and markings. This is not a genuine german WW2 sextant.
There can be different serial numbers on the frame and on the arm on C-Plath sextants.

Thank for interest to my auction. Sextant is made of aluminium.
Unfortunately box is not present. In photos you see a key and two corners for adjustment sextant.
    Best regards,
    Vladimir.
To me that means no certificate.
Tell me, is it usual for the frame and index arm to have different serial numbers?

I had one of these. It was painted black.

I have never come across an unpainted sextant (except the cheapo knock off reproductions). It looks like the WWII type used on U-boats (aluminium) but the U-boat sextant was painted black. Also, note the two objects on either side of the alidade.

This sextant looks like it is made out of stainless steel.

    Anyone know anything about it?

    Robert
