    Sorry about the attempt at humor, I could not stop myself.  I am sure the
    polished looked, albeit a bit of maintenance to keep it from oxidizing,
    would look sharp. (Perhaps it could be sprayed with a clear coat after
    stripping?) In wartime on shipboard or land I would imagine you would not
    want something glinting in the sun like a signal mirror for recon planes
    enemy personnel to spot.

    Another thought is to hit it with primer/sealer and airbrush that puppy
    white, silver, or black.  Or flames. <g>
