    Frank,

This is a wonderful method, indeed,
    but I have one question:
How did Mendoza determine the true angles
between the directions to these church steeples?
Presumably by measuring the distances between
those churches to the nearest foot.
    How did he do this?

Perhaps I can use GPS to determine
    the position of the church
steeples in Lafayette (we have more than enough of them)
But even GPS does not measure this to one or two feet,
even if I am permitted to climb every steeple.

Or I have to depend on a theodolite
to determine these angles from a fixed position?

    Alex.
