    If you think there's some guy named Thor up there throwing down
    thunderbolts, you'll never be able to harness electricity.  (Of course
    that might be good because then we wouldn't have GPS devices and we'd
    still have an actual reason to use our sextants).
    
    I don't know what rules you're talking about, but the computer you're
    reading this on was built on solid knowledge derived from a scientific
    worldview.  No other system of beliefs comes remotely close to the
    predictive power of science.
    
    Ironically, the search for better navigation for mariners was one of
    the main motivating factors behind the early renaissance of science.
