Formula is: LHA body = GHA body - west DR long. So if GHA = 1deg. 24.4', then LHA = 1 deg. 24.4' - 38 deg. 59.4' W. (Then, assuming that GHA which you calculated is correct): You'll need to add 360 deg to the GHA before subtracting the 38 deg. 59.4' W, which gives: 361 deg. 24.4' - 38 deg 59.4' = 322 deg. 45.0' --- but... if you are using sight reduction tables (marine or air) and need a whole-degree LHA, then the assumed long. would be 38 deg. 24.4'W so that 361 deg. 24.4' - 38 deg. 24.4' W, giving LHA star = 323 deg. 00.0' (did you use the formula, GHA star = GHA Aries + SHA star to get GHA star?)
