    There are a few videos on youTube which illustrate this.  Here's one


    Essentially, you place the lens such that you observe a reflected light and look for a change in the reflection.  In the video, it provided a bluish cast to the reflection.

    I am unsure as to what utility, if any, anti-reflective lenses would have in celestial navigation.  AR coatings attenuate the light transmitted through the lens.  We have shades to perform that task.
