    These things do go back a bit! The sight-level collimation seems so direct, I can only guess that trying to focus on near and far targets at once made that method too 'inelegant' to be taken seriously. I like Celestaire's highly accurate cylinders. Much nicer than my dioptres with the thick green paint. The velour bag is nice if your box doesn't have a slot for them like mine does. My machinist friend in Essex might charge me a fiver for those.

    I did find the SNO manual. That's how I figured out what the dioptres were for.
