Oh ps... You can rely on anything you want, but if the ocean wants you, she is taking you... Just look up on you tube the Estonia and you can listen to the VHF talk of the first on the scene, found them, and still can do nothing but throw some life rafts over the side cause it's simply too rough... She wants you your hers... You belong to the Ogin... But the EPIRB has saved more people than anything else. A lot of the sailors I've sailed with would go down with the ship holding the EPIRB rather than get in the orange lifeboat without it...
