Silicon Sea answers should be worked out in what ever method of Dead Reckoning or Sight Reduction you are comfortable with. Most Silicon Sea problems are based on a specific Dozier Rhumbline formula. Answers can vary from the Silicon Sea answers, but if your answer is with in +/- 5 degrees or +/- 5 miles it is correct. Guys this is practical marine navigation, we are not trying to place an object in orbit. Great Circle is a special case and not very practical for small boat navigation. When a Great Circle answer is required the Silicon Sea question will state it.
