    Answers to questions:

    1) EP is to point on LOP 2 closest to the DR. It lines on LOP 2 and on a line through the DR perpendicular to LOP 2.

    2) jkarl-001 is the "Next, is a scatter plot showing erro in nautical miles as a function of crossing angle between LOP's."

    3) Yes, the two plots are the same with different scaling.

    4) The spread sheet calls the "heading" of the LOP 'Az'. It differs from usual Az by 90 degrees.

    5) The initial DR can differ from the true position by up to 3 miles. It will lie on LOP 1.

    Observations:

    1) Yes but, since differences between LOP angles (which take on all possible values) are being considered, the statement may be corrrect.

    2) It is assumed that there are two good LOP's based on observations at times 1 hour apart. The issue to be addressed is how to best use this information to establish a position. So, it can be taken that at time zero, one is known to be somewhere on LOP 1.

We don't know where we are on the first LOP. We know to +/- 3 miles.
