    Frank,

    That is understood.  Unfortunately for me, when grading the sight folders and exams of Power Squadrons students, I have to make sure they use a "recent" Nautical Almanac as specified in the instructions.  Fortunately for me, if they are using the Almanac excerpts provided with the course material, they are using the 2004 Almanac.

    The tables did not change in any meaningful way. The illusion that there is a meaningful change is a close cousin of that "Trackline Attachment Sysndrome" recently discussed. It's a focus on the appearance of accuracy rather than the reality.
