    Re: Refraction at the horizon

For those interested in the Auer and Standish work about refraction, a year ago, Marcel Tschudin sent me this article:

    The Astronomical Journal

    http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/1538-3881/119/5/2472

Astronomical Refraction: Computational Method for All Zenith Angles

    Lawrence H. Auer et al 2000 The Astronomical Journal 119 2472-2474   doi:10.1086/301325

    http://www.iop.org/EJ/article/1538-3881/119/5/2472/200020.web.pdf

It says textually : Further, in addition to the computation of refraction near the horizon, this method can easily be extended to include the e.ects of atmospheric inhomogeneities.
