The inputs I use are the body (including limb in case of sun) and time, after previously entering the DR and date and time, etc. There would be some re-arrangement of one or more of the nav formulas that would give the azimuth as a result of the equivalents of the same data but I don't know it. Perhaps one of the more mathematically focused could derive it.
