I do not know how the numbers are now Frank, havent looked but I am slowly working through all the posts of interest that I have missed over more recent times. I had to step away from Navlist and other interests for a while.

I have only ever been a fringe dweller when it came to celnav, never really become deeply involved in the complexities but do enjoy the level I work at. I have gone from learning celnav to not using it due to the advent of the dreaded GPS. The boat has now gone but the slow accumulation of sextants has continued over the years to the point they now number 16.

I have semi restored some, tidying them up so to speak without destroying the patina of time that some display. I maintain my basic skills more to check the accuracy of the sextant following such work rather than to actually navigate anywhere.

I guess there is a place for all of us, navigators, dreamers, collectors and others who find some satisfaction and wonder in the magic of celnav.

Good to be back and reading again.
