And if you turn on the Maps Labs feature I described, you get the option of dropping a lat-long marker, too

Go to desired place, right click the place and choose "center map here".
if you then choose "link" icon top left (looks like tree links of a chain) you get a line like this.http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=sv&ll=64.663189,21.317854&spn=0.000779,0.00284&t=h&z=19guess what, the part with 64.663189,21.317854 are the coordinates in decimal degrees of the place you centred the map/image at.
the coordinates above are of the place Me and my wife got married, old pilot station outside Skelleftehamn.
if you go there you will have to choose satellite option, regular map show only water where this island is.
